Malaysian Chinese?

A very long time ago, I tried writing a bit about Malaysian English, although I soon discovered that whilst the subject was very interesting (because of the huge amount of code-mixing that goes on there), I was not the best person to be writing about it.

In fact, Malaysian Chinese is just as fascinating, and below is a video about that very subject:

I was most surprised to hear the Malaysian guy using Cantonese ending particles such as 咩 and 掛 in the context of otherwise ‘normal’ Mandarin, but presumably this is no different from Taiwanese Mandarin introducing 哦 and 耶 from other dialects.

Does anyone else come across code-mixing like this, either in Chinese or in other languages?
